How to Prepare / Make / Cook - Dal masoor ?Dal masoor 1 cup masoor dal, 1 large tomato, peeled and pureed. 1 small onion, minced. 2 red and 2 green chillies, minced. 1-inch piece ginger, minced. 4 flakes of garlic, sliced. 1 tsp. Cumin seeds. Handful of coriander leaves. Salt and chilli powder to taste. ½ tsp. Turmeric powder. Heat 1 tblsp. Ghee and fry onion and ginger until soft. Add previously
washed and soaked dal and fry for a couple of minutes. Put in 3 cups water
and turmeric and cook till the dal turns soft. Remove from fire, cool
and pass through a sieve. Heat 1 tblsp. Ghee and put in tomato, salt and
chilli powder. When the ghee starts separating, put in dal along with
coriander leaves. Mix nicely and bring slowly to a rolling boil. Boil
for a couple of minutes and remove from fire. Heat 1 tblsp. Ghee and put
in garlic, chillies and cumin seeds, when the seeds start popping, pour
over the dal and serve hot. |
