How to Prepare / Make / Cook - Khate chhole ?Khate chhole khatte chole recipe 2 cups kabuli channa. 1 large onion. 1-inch piece ginger. 1 lemon-sized ball of tamarind. 6 flakes garlic. 1 large tomato. 1 tsp. Garam masala. 1 tsp. Each of roasted and ground cumin seeds and ajwain. ½ tsp. Turmeric powder. Handful of sliced coriander leaves. Salt and chilli powder to taste. Method of cooking khatte chole recipeSoak channas in water whole night. Next morning. Boil them with a pinch
of soda and salt until tender and completely dry. Soak tamarind in ½
tsp. Turmeric powder for 15 minutes, then squeeze out the pulp. Grind
onion and garlic to a paste. Cut ginger into small pieces. Heat 2 tblsps.
Ghee and fry onion and garlic to a golden colour. Put in tomatoes and
all the ground spices and salt and cook till the ghee separates. Pour
in tamarind water and half cup more water. Mix nicely and bring to a boil
reduce heat and put in the boiled channas. Cook till the gravy turns quite
thick. Remove from fire and mix in miced green chillies and ginger. heat
1 tblsp. Ghee. Put in ajwain, when it starts smelling, pour over the channas
and serve immediately. |
