How to Prepare / Make / Cook - Urad aur channa ?Urad aur channa 1 cup channa dal. ½ cup urad dal. 1 large tomato, diced. 1 medium onion, 1-inch piece ginger, 3 flakes garlic. ½ tsp. Turmeric powder. 1 tsp. Cumin seeds. Salt and chilli powder to taste. Soak both the dals together in 5 cups water for about 4 hours, then put
them to cook in the water in which they were soaked along with turmeric
powder until tender and almost dry. Mix nicely and remove from fire. Heat
2 tblsps. Ghee and add onion, ginger and garlic after grinding them. Fry
the mixture to a golden colour, then put in the tomato and salt and continue
cooking till the ghee separates. Mix in the dals nicely and set aside.
Heat 1 tblsp. Ghee and toss in the cumin seeds. When the seeds start popping.
Pour over the dals. Serve hot. |
