How to Prepare / Make / Cook -Jeera chutney ?


Jeera chutney

25 grams cumin seeds. 2 lemon-sized balls of tamarind. 3 tblsps. Sugar. 2 tblsps. Chilli powder. ½ tsp. Garam masala. Salt to taste.

Soak tamarind in 2 cups water until soft, then squeeze out all the pulp thoroughly. Roast cumin seeds on a girdle to a light brown colour and grind to a paste along with sugar. Mix together all the above ingredients and place on a low fire. Cook till a little thick. Cool and bottle and place in the refrigerator. Lasts for 4 to 5 days under refrigeration.
