How to Prepare / Make / Cook - Pickled pumpkin ?


Pickled pumpkin

1 kilo pumpkin, peeled and cubed. 60 grams ground mustard seeds. 1 ½ tblsps. Each of chilli and turmeric powder. Salt to taste.

Heat water to boiling, add pumpkin and after a minute remove from fire. Cover and set aside for 3 minutes. then strain out the water completely. Place the pumpkin in a wide thali and let it dry for 1 hour or so. Then mix the spices into the pumpkin and put in a clean. Sterilized bottled. Cover tightly and set aside for 5 days. This pickle lasts for about 20 days.
