How to Prepare / Make / Cook - Jamikand bhajee ?


Jamikand bhajee

250 grams suran. 1 big onion. 4 flakes garlic. 1 tsp. Ground cumin seeds. ½ tsp. Turmeric powder. 1 tsp. Coriander powder. 2 green chillies, minced. Handful of sliced coriander leaves. 2 tblsps. Beaten curds. 1 big tomato, diced. Salt and chilli powder to paste.

Grind onion and garlic to a paste. Peel and cut suran into small pieces. Sprinkle salt on top and set aside for 10 minutes, then boil in water to which a little lime juice has been added. Heat 2 tblsps. Ghee and fry onion paste to a golden brown colour. Put in spices and fry briefly. Put in tomatoes and curds and cook till ghee separates. Put in jamikand, mix nicely and then put ½ cup water on top. Cook on low fire till the gravy turns a little thick. Serve garnished with chopped coriander. You can also prepare turnips in this way.
